Worcester Regional Medical Reserve Corps
Strengthening the Public Health Infrastructure
and Improving Emergency Preparedness
The Worcester Regional MRC is managed by the Worcester Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS). Since 2002, the Worcester MMRS has been working to enhance emergency services capabilities relating to the health and medical needs of victims of a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) event, pandemic, natural disaster or other crisis.
The Worcester Regional MRC was recently established for the Central Massachusetts Region II Public Health Coalition and is recruiting medical professionals to volunteer to assist in the event of an emergency, locally and regionally.
Volunteers will be trained and prepared to staff Emergency Dispensing Sites (EDS) and respond to any type of public health disaster. Our purpose is to be an emergency response resource for the Worcester MMRS as well as Public Health agencies in the Region II Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition area.
Medical personnel, you can help the community of Hopedale in the event of an emergency. The Junior-Senior High School is designated as an EDS for the town. Please register with The Worcester Regional Medical Reserve Corps and you will be able to assist local officials if the need arises.

Civilians are needed too - for non-medical tasks such as intake and babysitting. Call Lenny Izzo at the Board of Health (508-634-2203 x222) to let him know of your interest.
