Thanks for your generous donations!

From the Director’s Desk:
After our disappointing loss (only 6 votes short) at the Town Meeting for approval of the funds needed to go forward with the Planning & Design Grant, our really good Friends of the Hopedale Library presented us with a challenge.  They were willing to provide $3,000 of the funds IF we could come up with the rest of the funds.  As a result of some creative funding, the Trustees voted to use some of the State Aid funds we receive annually and some of our donation funds to meet that challenge.  Currently we are in the process of getting contracts approved by the Mass. Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) in order to move forward with the planning process.  I will keep you informed of our progress as we move forward with the feasibility study.  If anyone is interested in joining our Planning & Design Committee, please contact me at msparlin@cwmars.org.

Happy Holidays and a Very Happy New Year to all!

~Merrily Sparling

From the Intern:
Got some good news and bad news for you. Bad news first: I have not produced any new comics lately...I have an idea for a comic, but I can't work on it just yet.

Good news is I have been quite busy this Thanksgiving weekend working on a simple silly game. It has mild violence, but it isn't graphic or have anything inappropriate. I did not animate it, but I did code it. It isn't finished, but it will be updated from time to time, so check back every couple days if you like it!

I'm also adding a link to the character bios because some comics may not make sense to people if they haven't read the bios.

This month's releases:
~"Character Bios" (comic) Rated G
~"White vs. Oranges" (incomplete) (game) Rated PG

Enjoy!

There's an ongoing book sale!

That's right! The Friends of the Hopedale Library are sponsoring an ongoing book sale at the library! Books that can be purchased are on a cart to the right of the front door. It's cheap, too! Prices range from ten cents to two dollars.

However, due to so many books, the library cannot accept any donations to this sale until further notice...
