Printer is working again!
For the past week or so, we've been having some issues with the printer. But now it's working again! Hooray!

Wireless coming soon!
I know that we've been advertising this for a couple months now, but because of issues with the printer, it has not been installed just yet. Soon hopefully!

From the Director’s Desk:
Did you know we have a lot of “Friends” at the Bancroft Memorial Library?  We are very lucky to have an active, supportive Friends group, “The Friends of the Hopedale Library”.  Some of the ways the Friends raise funds is through their big annual book and bake sale usually held in May and the ongoing book sale on the cart just inside the main entrance.  The Library receives so many donations of books from our patrons that you can find great deals on “barely used” books.  Wouldn’t you rather pay $2 for a new best seller than $20 or more?

So many events...
The Friends also have a Holiday Bake Sale in December with beautifully decorated home baked goods.  This year’s bake sale is on Saturday, December 15th.  The items are usually dressed for the holidays and make wonderful gifts.
The funds raised support all of the library programs held during the year.  These monthly programs can range from speakers on “King Phillips War” to Jeff Belanger talking about mysterious happenings.  All of the Children’s programs are supported by the Friends’ generous support.  A favorite is the finale to the Summer Reading Program with the Ice Cream Party.

Who's in charge?
The Executive Board of the Friends is comprised of the President, Nancy Collins, the Treasurer, Ellen Alves, the Secretary, Sara Pellegrini, and our new PR person, Chris Seaver.  There are several other active board members who take on the tasks of providing refreshments for the programs and making phone calls for the book and bake sales.

I want to join!
If you are not yet a member of the Friends you can easily join by signing up at the library or emailing Nancy Collins at senoracollins@comcast.net.  It’s not expensive and there are family rates and senior citizen rates.  The big plus is they are really friendly folks!

From the Intern:
So I was making an advertisement for the upcoming bake sale, and I decided to make some of the DeRoze Characters into cookies. It turned out much better than I expected and is somewhat hilarious! So I feel as though I had to add it to the comics page!

Again, time has slipped through my fingers as I've been busy with some stuff, so not much else has been done. Sorry! But I swear, I'll get something good out soon!

This month's releases:
~"Character Cookies" (comic) Rated G
~"The Break In" (completed) (comic) Rated G

I'll have something nice for you for next month!

Did you know?
There's an ongoing book sale!

That's right! The Friends of the Hopedale Library are sponsoring an ongoing book sale at the library! Books that can be purchased are on a cart to the right of the front door. It's cheap, too! Prices range from ten cents to two dollars.

However, due to so many books, the library cannot accept any donations to this sale until further notice...
