Sign Posting Policy

Sign Placement on Park Grounds

  • No signage is to be placed on Park grounds without pre-approval from the Park Commission. This includes the Parklands and East shore of Hopedale Pond, Town Park, Phillips Field, Adin Ballou Park, and the CupolaTriangle at the intersection of Rt. 16 and Adin St.  This policies applies to both permanent and temporary signage.
  • The Park Commission reserves the right to deny any request that does not meet established guidelines. There's no "grandfathering" provision for existing permanent signs placed on Park grounds without prior Park Commission knowledge or approval.

Permanent Sign Guidelines

Other than common, informational signs provided by the County or State, signs specific to Park Department operations, or signs germain to the historical character of a particular Park parcel or the Town Hopedale in general, permanent signs are not permitted on Park land. Town of Hopedale operational signs that appear permanent but are not, such as those announcing Town Meetings or HHS state championship accomplishments, will be permitted for an extended period of time as determined by the Board. When a time designation expires for school signs, they will  be returned to the School Department for permanent display on school grounds.

Informational Kiosks

  • The Park Department has three kiosks where we post information on Park events and programs. These were constructed as part of a department-sponsored Eagle Scout project, and are located at the Dutcher St. entrance to Town Park, at the Town Pond boat ramp, and at the main Freedom St. gate to the Parklands.
  • Hopedale civic, public school and in-town non-profit/non-business groups are welcome to post information at these kiosks. All forms/sheets must have an expiration date clearly written on them. Signs allowed to remain in kiosks for 14 days maximum.
  • Commercial advertisements or literature, business cards, and yard sale or private sale notices are not permitted and will be removed.
