Welcome to the Detective Division



The Detective Division is staffed by Detective Jeffrey Dean. The Detective Division is responsible for investigating and following up with any criminal activity that occurs in Hopedale or affects Hopedale residents. In addition, the Detective Division assists other police departments in a wide array of services when called upon. 

Our Objective:

The primary objective of the detective division is to pursue leads with the overall objective of identifying persons responsible for committing crimes. Once an investigation is initiated, criminal patterns are researched with the hopes of finding evidence directing a detective to a successful conclusion, including prosecution. The detective division is also responsible for crime scene investigations where they are tasked with the collection, preservation, packaging, transportation and documentation of physical evidence left at a crime scene.

Types of Crime We Investigate:

The types of crimes we investigate vary from crimes against persons and property crimes to death investigations, as well as white collar crimes. Crimes falling into any of these categories are then classified as either misdemeanors or felonies.
