Board of Health
The Board of Health is comprised of three members who are elected annually for a three-year term. Responsibilities of the Board of Health department include the following:
* Permits and inspections for:
- restaurants
- caterers
- church kitchens
- coffee shops
- convenient stores
- disposal works installers
- elderly housing
- residential kitchens
- school kitchens
- bodywork establishments
- body art/tattooing establishments
- mobile food trucks
- one day/one event food vendors
- trash haulers
- septage haulers
- tobacco vendors
- private wells
* trash and recycling collection
* deep hole and percolation testing
* disposal works/septic system plan review and inspections
* asbestos issues
* air quality issues
* abandoned housing issues
* housing issues related to minimum standards of the state sanitation code
* annual emergency preparedness drill with the state
* response to public health threats, such as: COVID-19, West Nile, EEE, bird flu, rabies, Lyme disease
